San Fermines, the annual festival in Pamplona, Spain is a major draw for Spaniars as well as International's in the month of July. For a week the city hosts constant 24 hour parties, as well as a bull morning every morning and bull fights every afternoon. The entire city adorns the traditional white garb and red sashes and scarves. Every year there are numerous injuries as well as the occasional death.

The Tongariro Crossing is considered by many to be the finest "one day walk" in New Zealand, if not the world. The trail takes hikers through a volcanic plateau of old lava flows, volcanic craters, and gives allows the opportunity to walk between a field of three active volcanoes; Mt Tongariro, Ruapehu, and Ngauruhoe (which stars as the Lord of the Ring's Mount Doom). The ground steams with geothermal heat, and steam often rises from the active volcano cones. A hiker jumps through the air along the trail. Ngauruhoe is clearly seen in the background.

The secret local swimming hold Kipu Falls. It is a freshwate swiming hold surrounded by 20 foot walls which provide for excellent cliff diving and a enormous rope swing. This used to be a locals only location, but tourists often find the secret path leading to the swiming hold. The locals love to show off swing acrobatics for the tourists.

Doubtful Sound is the lesser known of the major sounds, but it is arguably more scenic. It is also much harder to access and thus more remote. An overnight boat cruise offers deep access and activities like kayaking and experiencing untouched nature.

The Dusky dolphins found in Kaikoura, New Zealand are described as hyper-social. They are very playful and enjoy the company of swimmers in the water. The dolphins are very acrobatic and frequently jump out of the water as people play with them.
